Aj Discala philanthropist writes about the fairytale in Germany

For Aj Discala philanthropist himself, there are stories that are so good they are hard to believe.

As Aj Discala philanthropist explains, the German city of Braunschweig has a new benefactor. You could read that “An anonymous donor has been stuffing envelopes filled with 10,000 euros in cash into the mailboxes of charitable organizations. His latest contribution was an anomaly. A local hospice found the money under its doormat.”

It all started with an article about a local robbery. After having been published says Aj Discala philanthropist, an envelope, sent by an anonymous donor, found its way to the local victim support center. The envelope contained €10,000 — in cash.

Further envelopes followed:

€10,000 for a day-care center
€10,000 for four local churches
€10,000 for a choir
€10,000 for a group providing meals to the homeless
€10,000 for a soup kitchen
and on and on.

Aj Discala philanthropist says that “all the donations have followed the same pattern. Each gift was placed in a white envelope and the donation has almost always been the same, though one was for €50,000.

Nobody knows who the benefactor is but for Aj Discala philanthropist this sounds like a Robin Hood from modern days. Robin Hood was known for steeling from the rich and giving to the poor. By now, the mystery benefactor has shared out €190,000.

“There’s a big difference between writing a check and being a philanthropist. People can write checks for many reasons, and they may or may not be contributing in sustainable ways to a better future,” says AJ Discala. “A philanthropist is someone who gives consistently with intention because it is right and because they want to create a positive change in the world.”

Philanthropy is a human characteristic that grows through practice and intention. We all have an innate respect and caring for humanity. Through the course of our lives, this trait can be fostered or sit idle. A meaningful, purpose-driven life is one that fosters this innate human trait. Particularly on traditional Wall Street, we can feel alienated from our desire to care about people and just focus on profit. To counteract the distance from compassion, AJ Discala and The Broadsmoore Group have launched To Be Giving Foundation, a charitable arm of theirinvestment advisory and merchant banking firm.

Aj Discala comments on the ongoing situation in Syria.

Aj Discala reports on the current situation in Syria. Following the veto used by Russia and China at the UN Security Council to have Mr Assad replaced by a transitional government, the situation did not improve reports Aj Discala.

The US and Europe are counting on the Arab world to impact the crisis and to find a solution says Aj Discala.

This is the latest news on the situation that you can read on the guardian says Aj Discala: “At a crisis meeting in Cairo, the Arab League agreed to take exceptional measures to halt President Bashar al-Assad’s violent repression of civilian protesters.

It voted to scrap its much criticized observer mission to Syria, severed all diplomatic relations with the Assad regime and reinforced economic sanctions.

The League called for the opening of “communication channels with the Syrian opposition and providing all forms of political and material support to it”.In a landmark decision it asked the United Nations for support in sending a joint peacekeeping force. Nabil al-Arabi, the League’s secretary general, urged ministers to move quickly to end the “vicious cycle of violence”. The Syrian regime immediately rejected the resolution “categorically”.”

For Aj Discala the question is what the enxt steps should be. How can we help the Syrian population victim if the national and international politics.

Aj Discala reported about last Tuesday’s visit of ruissia’s foreign minister.  Sergei Lavrov in Syria. But as it seems since nothing move forward. For Aj Discala, at least, the latest news this morning were that Sergei Lavrov says Russia is studying an UN-Arab League peacekeeping proposal in Syria. However,  Russia insists on a ceasefire before the mission can start.

The sad news is says Aj Discala that while the Arab leaders met, rockets continued to fall on the Syrian opposition stronghold of Homs. Activists reported more than 500 people have died there since February 4.

Aj Discala explains that there is a fear of the use of chemical weapons to be used against protesters. The Syria army distributed gas masks to its soldiers.

On another note says Aj Discala it was interesting to read that Anonymous hacked Assad: “It seems al-Assad recently became the target of web hactivist group Anonymous; the group managed to successfully hack into his email account this week. That said, we imagine the job was something of a bore for Anonymous, which just last week revealed that it had managed to eavesdrop on a phone call between Scotland Yard and the FBI. After all, it can’t have taken much hacking prowess to access an account protected with the world’s second weakest password: 12345. To make matters worse, Anonymous was also able to access 78 accounts belonging to al-Assad’s staff, with 33 of them using the same 12345 or 123456 passwords.”

AJ Discala on this weekend’s winners

The Giants and the Patriots are winners this weekend, along with Newt Gingrich, and everyone knows who the weekend losers turned out to be, says AJ Discala. Unfortunately, there do not seem to be any winners in the world economic news, unless you happen to be a bank that can tap into the lending program of the European Central Bank. Europe’s most troubled countries have been able to see their interest rates drop dramatically.

AJ Discala suspects this is only a short term fix for a very deep problem of economies that cannot sustain vast social welfare programs with workers demanding short work weeks and high benefits.

AJ Discala asks if we have  seen any plans here coming from the U.S. presidential candidates to get our country moving again? We are afraid that attack ads will not get us on the right track to prosperity. Tomorrow night, President Obama will deliver his State of the Union address and perhaps there will be reason to be optimistic, but that is hard to count on when iconic U.S. brands such as Kodak declare Chapter 11.

We all must ask if the auto industry can be back on top of the world, as GM reported last week, why can’t we generate that same economic recovery in small manufacturing and main street businesses?“ said AJ Discala, CEO of The Broadsmoore Group.

AJ Discala Questions Whether S+P Bottom Has Been Put In Place?

AJ Discala asks if the HFT and Quant machines found some sort of equilibrium. “These are two very fundamental, however complex questions to be raised pertaining to the markets,” says the CEO.

On August 8, says AJ Discala, we saw a “climax day” wherein the markets experienced a turbidity that even the most experienced of floor traders feel was unprecedented. “This was a day where we saw less than 2% of the stocks traded on the NYSE finishing ‘up’ for the session. Many technicians have incorporated Dow theory with that day’s trading and have called it a possible capitulation day.”

“There are also suspicions that the HFT (High frequency trading) firms have opportunistically taken advantage of a swing in the Dow, SPX, and VIX,” says AJ Discala.

“According to the TABB Group, HFT’s account for almost 60% of volume in U.S. Equities. TABB has noted that on August 10th the percentage of volume by HFT’s soared to 70% of the day’s volume in a session which closed down 521 points.”

“The markets have stabilized over the past 2 sessions,” AJ Discala says. “This is most likely related to Eurozone fears being ‘temporarily’ soothed as they have been aggressively buying bonds of the weaker EU economies. That along with long only natural funds buying deep value in individual names has brought a bid back to equities. The consensus estimates for S+P have been in the $112-$114 range for 2012. This clearly gives a picture of nice upside from these depressed levels.”
